Apparently your name is Ben

I'm so evil. The best food in the world and you can't have any. Ice cream is currently off the menu.

You slept till quarter to seven today. Which was much better than waking me at 5.30am! We had cuddles on the bed and you seemed very happy. Mummy did some Floortime while I finished the blog from yesterday. You were in a very good mood, I have this funny feeling that you are going to grow up into a fabulous guy. I haven't noticed any withdrawal symptoms yet, no climbing the walls screaming for the crumbs behind the fridge though you did ask for Pitta Cheese for lunch yesterday and today and again this evening.

We took Mummy to work, no lift issues - you just got out at -1 and went to the car, and no tears when we said goodbye to her. You just waved and said 'bye bye, lihitraot'. It is odd, you used to wave and say bye-bye all the time. Then you stopped. Maybe you regressed. Now, after working hard again, you say it.

The new trampoline is currently in the lounge, and you bounce on it every time you walk past. Instinctively, I think it is a good thing, you love bouncing and I suspect it levels you out a bit. Plus it is exercise. I am just worried that Jonathon below might think something else is going on! We probably need to make sure you can't help yourself if you fall though - put a rug down though. It is definitely a help on these rainy days though.

You did a poop after your breakfast...oddly there was corn there. I know it is fairly graphic, but I want to pay attention to what you poop. Undigested corn. Hmmm. I hope it doesn't come up on the tests as needing to be restricted.

Something very strange happened around 10:30am. We were doing some Floortime on the computer, you love typing out the alef-bet. Obviously there is a system and a pattern and you like those. But it is hard to get you to interact when you are staring hard at a keyboard and a screen. I tried to playfully prevent you, and cover up a key that you want to press. And then, when I covered up ג you said, "no, Ben". So there you have it. You called yourself Ben. For the first time. Little steps.

You zonked out around 11am, and by 11:45am in the middle of some problem solving Floortime, you just stared at me blankly. You climbed up on my sofa and snuggled me. You were sleeping soundly. Oddly, I just cuddled you, and no hands in the mouth. That is very strange. There were a couple of little stamps in the morning, and one squealy whine when you didn't get what you wanted. Nothing that grates though not as responsive or as good a morning for eye contact as yesterday. Much better than usual though.

When you woke up, you were a little bit grizzly, and your eye contact and interaction weren't as good as they were yesterday. You blanked your food completely, like I was serving up vomit. We went via the park to Safta's, which was a good idea, though you were so keen to get there that we sort of skipped the half an hour of running around I had planned. You turned down the park this morning, you haven't been out in the rain, and you seem to be much more levelled out when you have had an early morning work out. Randi said this many times when we stayed there and I think she is right. We did have a little bit of basketball on the way though, always a good thing. You love dunking, but unfortunately I am not going to be able to ply you with milk to make you 2m tall. You'll have to learn how to jump, though Woody Harrelson couldn't get the funding for the sequel "Sons of Short Yemenites Can't Jump".

We picked you up at Safta's after raiding the healthfood supermarket Eden near Ikea. The supermarket has a big Coeliac section, for those people with gluten intolerance, but lots of the stuff has soy or milk in. But we picked up some more Natura Rice Milk and some pasta which you may or may not eat.

You were absolutely hyper when we got through the door, running around shouting numbers and playing the channel hopping game. I tried to show Safta how to do it to get great eye contact, but I think you broke her. We wanted to stay but the energy of a caged almost-three year old versus a 71 year old grandmother who recently had an eye operation...well, I',m surprised she stays the pace at all. You pooped twice there (interesting, something is going in, and you are obviously not starving) - I checked the contents...soft, nothing too stinky and remnants of apple peel maybe. You'll thank me for all you put me through one day.

Safta - the most persistent feeder I have ever met, got you to touch the soup (2 spoons) and some of the potato topping for the Lentil & Peanut Bake. I was very pleased, a few more spoons and you might not look at it and gag!

We went down in the lift and though you had a little tantrum - a couple of seconds - we went to the door. It was so clear that you were full of energy that I needed to run with you a bit. A bit turned into 45 minutes, Mummy collapsing on a wall as we jumped into every puddle, climbed every steps and walked on every wall.

You bounced a bit on the trampoline and we did some painting when we got in. I asked Mummy to make Baby Rice porridge for you when we got in, but events conspired against her. When she finally made it, and found the honey, you were dead on your feet. You refused it, though you paid it a bit of attention sitting down but I suspect you were just exhausted. You didn't wanted a bath either, and it was 9.45pm, so we just flannelled you and massaged your skin and put you to bed. You collapsed and in a few minutes you were out for the count.

Today's food:

Breakfast: Larger bowl of Adama cornflakes and Natura Rice Milk. A double helping of banana and date smoothie. You slurped the rice milk out of the bowl and complained when the second smoothie came to an end. Obviously a big success.

Snack: Maybe 30g of some strangely moorish puffed corn snack from Tiv Taam, with Russian on the pack. I'll see if I can find it online. You liked it though. Freshly squeezed orange juice and some Prigat Diet Grape Juice.

Lunch: Lentil and Peanut Bake - not for the first time. And the lack of interest in it was only matched by the contempt for it last night. And I put some Pea Soup with it to see if one would be eaten on the basis it repulsed you least.

Dinner: Pea Soup (refused, then ate 2 spoons, possibly under duress), Lentil & Peanut Bake (refused, ate half a slice of potato though)

Snack: Banana, Apple, one date, one chocolate ball. Two large glasses of Prigat Strawberry & Banana Nectar (possibly Diet).

Supper: Baby Rice, with honey and a dash of Rice Milk (refused)
